Opportunity: Growth of the product team, including new leadership, new designers, and new consultants brought marketing experience and a lot of creativity, but the young VCC Product team struggled to balance this infusion of creative energy with the realities of an upcoming delivery deadline.
I used this deck in a discussion about process with Neil Cantor, Delos’ new CPO, and Kate Connoly, a PM new to the VCC product team and new to product development.

Reflections
Despite some gains in collaboration and velocity within the VCC team in the second half of 2021, Delos leadership decided to stop work on the VCC Lighting app in late 2021 (also when I left the org), thus negating a contract with VCC Lighting, LLC. Since then, through a combination of attrition and layoffs, they have lost the CTO, CPO, above-mentioned consultants, and multiple PMs, designers, and technologists, all without replacement. While I believe that the above deck drove meaningful conversations and improvements amongst the immediate team, hindsight indicates that perhaps there was more lacking than simply a process for the VCC delivery team.
